Buddha's Favorite Pâté
1 clove garlic
1 Tbl pink salt
1 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup other nuts, like cahsews, almond or walnuts
2 cups spinach
2 Tbl extra virgin olive oil
1 Tbl spirulina
Throw all ingredients into your Vitamix and process into pâté. Dogs love chlorophyll, which is why they eat grass. Buddha LOVES this living food and he gobbles it up as soon as it hits the floor. He loves this green, healthy food much more than the canned food we were feeding him before with cooked meat and fillers. We still give Buddha the dry food that we always gave him that we leave out all the time. Maybe that will change, but we don't want to move to fast with this diet change for him. So far, so good.

You are so radiant & look like you are truly thriving! You are totally re-inspiring me!
ReplyDeleteI also recently manifested a nasty head & chest cold that has me resting more, drinking tons of pure spring water, playing with Perelandra flower essences & drinking raw shakes & juices again...such a blessing in disguise to be temporarily ill...& my obsession with processed chocolate is over & I am so ready to shift to adding more tummy raw treats to my life! You
Marcelle,
ReplyDeleteI am sending you healing thoughts and lots of love. If I was there I would nurse you back to health and make you the best raw smoothies that you've ever had!! Pick up some raw cacao nibs and raw coconut. Pit some dates and fill them with the cocoa and sprinkle with coconut! You will love this decadent treat!!

I hate to say this, but garlic can destroy a dog's red blood cells and should never be fed to a dog! It will give them anemia. Also, you said "other" nuts, but make sure you tell people that macadamia nuts are poisonous to dogs, as little as 6 can make them sick. Also onions, avocado (including the whole plant), grapes & raisins (which can cause kidney failure), anything with xylitol, raw eggs, many seasonings are poisonous, baking soda and powder, and of course chocolate. Its very important to research what you feed your dog before you make them something as to not accidentally give them something toxic.

ReplyDeleteJamie, Garlic is listed as an ingredient in all of the raw dog foods on the market. It is listed in most of the raw food recipes for dogs too. Along with the garlic, I add spinach to the recipe, so any fear of anemia should be balanced out with the greens Buddha eats. Thank you for the info! I have researched what I feed him pretty extensively. I will spend some time researching more, as I value your opinion.
In Gratitude, Dayna
Wonderful! See, I learn something new everyday :) And its great that you posted about the greens in case anyone else sees the garlic thing and wonders. And I didn't mean for you to research, I mean everyone! I stupidly once used peroxide in my dog's ears because website said that would get rid of ear mites and then I found out that if they ingest it, its toxic! So, yeah, I was just letting people know about the grapes and such (something I found out a few months ago) and everything else :)
